Our Story

From our humble beginnings, we now handle six-figure annual programmes for some of the largest contractors in the country including United Living, Morgan Sindall and Axis as well as many others.

Though we have expanded over the years, we have not forgotten our roots and still endeavour to support local businesses with their roofing needs, as well as emergency residential work by providing a free survey and waiving call out charges.

And that’s why we’re not just any other roofing company – the word ‘maintenance’ isn’t in our name for the sake of it. We pride ourselves on not only maintaining properties and our projects, but also the relationships we have developed, and which have allowed us to get to where we are.

Words from Michael Ashton, Business owner.
The company started with a strong belief that I could personally serve my clients far better than the organisation I was employed by at the time. The emphasis being on the customer service aspect which not only appeared to be lacking in the business I was employed by but the industry as a whole. I had the skills as a roofer and the confidence to certainly at least earn a good living. With the basics and a lot of hard work I was confident business would come my way.

Ashton Roofing provides a well needed professional approach to roofing services whereby we believe the needs of the customer, and the customer service is put first. Our clients have given much praise for our works and service which has led to important & lucrative referrals for the business. As well as covering almost all types of roofing works we offer planned and re-active maintenance services for roof repairs.

This is just some of what we can offer, contact us to discuss further our residential services.

Commercial

We have and do work with some incredible businesses, we have long standing relationships with many and often win top contracts.  Here are some key aspects of commercial roofing:
1. Roof Installation: Commercial roof installation involves the selection and installation of roofing materials suitable for the specific needs of the commercial building. Common commercial roofing materials include modified bitumen, EPDM, TPO, PVC, metal, and asphalt shingles.

2. Roof Maintenance: Regular roof maintenance is crucial to identify and address any issues before they escalate. This includes inspections, cleaning, gutter maintenance, and repairs to ensure the longevity and performance of the commercial roof.

3. Roof Repair: Commercial roofs can suffer from various issues like leaks, ponding water, membrane damage, or flashing problems. Roofers specializing in commercial roofing can diagnose and repair these issues promptly to prevent further damage and maintain the integrity of the roof.

4. Roof Replacement: When a commercial roof reaches the end of its lifespan or sustains severe damage, a roof replacement is necessary. This involves removing the existing roof system and installing a new one, ensuring it meets the specific requirements and regulations for commercial buildings.

5. Roof Coatings: Applying roof coatings can provide additional protection and extend the lifespan of commercial roofs. Coatings can help with waterproofing, UV protection, and energy efficiency.

6. Green Roofing: Commercial buildings may opt for green roof systems, which involve the installation of vegetation and plants on the roof surface. Green roofs offer environmental benefits, such as improved insulation, stormwater management, and reduced energy consumption.

7. Roof Insulation: Proper insulation is essential for commercial buildings to enhance energy efficiency and reduce heating and cooling costs. Commercial roofers can install or upgrade insulation to meet building codes and improve thermal performance.

8. Roof Safety Systems: Commercial roofs often require safety systems, such as guardrails, walkways, and fall protection, to ensure the safety of workers who may need to access the roof for maintenance or repairs.

Council

We are very proud to have worked with many local councils on a range of projects and this is something ongoing as we are often called upon for more work.

1. Roof Repairs: Repairing damaged or leaking roofs on council-owned buildings, including fixing leaks, replacing broken or missing shingles, repairing flashing, and addressing any structural issues.

2. Roof Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of council-owned roofs to ensure their longevity and prevent potential issues. This may involve gutter cleaning, removing debris, and checking for any signs of damage or deterioration.

3. Roof Replacement: Replacing old or deteriorated roofs on council-owned buildings when repairs are no longer sufficient or cost-effective. This may involve removing the existing roof and installing a new roofing system that meets the required standards and regulations.

4. Roof Inspections: Conducting thorough inspections of council-owned roofs to assess their condition, identify any potential problems, and provide recommendations for necessary repairs or maintenance.

5. Emergency Roofing Services: Providing immediate roofing services in case of emergencies, such as storm damage, leaks, or structural issues that require immediate attention to ensure the safety and integrity of council-owned buildings.

These contracts are important for maintaining and preserving council-owned buildings, ensuring their roofs are in good condition and providing a safe and functional environment for residents, employees, and visitors. They also contribute to the overall infrastructure and maintenance efforts of the local government.

The scope of the maintenance works range from as little as broken gutters to full roof replacements. The council contracts are all worked off a schedule of rates system which is pre-agreed with the client. Each rate has a coding so its very easy to track and then invoice works. Maintenance works are notified to us early afternoon each day for the following days works. The projects are then distributed to the site teams so they each have a clear schedule of works to be carried out. In addition the business picks up a number of emergencies during each working day.
